Periodontal Diseases Can Trigger Heart Diseases and Strokes

Researchers have found that a person having periodontal diseases is nearly twice as likely to suffer a coronary heart disease as a person without. An oral infection can even cause a stroke! Several theories explain the link between heart diseases, strokes, and periodontal diseases:

Diagnosing Periodontal Diseases

Our experienced dentists will perform a periodontal examination before treating you for any periodontal diseases. A small dental instrument called periodontal probe is used to measure the sulcus (space) between a tooth and the gums. 

A healthy sulcus measures 2 millimeters or less and does not bleed. If our dentists find any other results, they will guide you through the next course of treatment.

Treating Periodontal Diseases

The treatment methods for periodontal diseases depend on the severity of the disease itself. All you have to do is schedule your appointment with our dentists, and they'll evaluate and recommend the suitable treatment.
